With more time spent at home and hardly any time going out besides the occasional trip to the grocery store and dog walk I decided now was a great time for me to test out a new dry shampoo to see if I could go a whole week without washing my hair.

Dry shampoos are great for using in-between washes while also adding a bit of extra volume and texture to hair. Over the past month I’ve been testing out this dry shampoo and thickening spray and I think I’ve finally got a good routine going. The thickening spray works great to use on freshly washed hair while the dry shampoo kept my style lasting for days.
THICKENING SPRAY
Start with freshly washed damp hair. Spray the thickening spray throughout and style as usual. Before I started using the thinking spray I would just blow-dry my hair until it was dry and not think much about it, but now since I’m getting my hair style to last all week thanks to the dry shampoo I’ve been going all out by taking the time to give my hair a proper blowout. I’ve been using this rotating hot hairbrush to blowout my hair section by section starting at the bottom and working my way up to the top for lots of added volume.
DRY SHAMPOO
Spray the dry shampoo just on the roots whenever needed, brush through, and go. It’s that simple! What seemed to work best for me was to start using the dry shampoo on the 2nd evening after I washed my hair and each night after that. I would use the dry shampoo on my roots just before my hair would typically started to get oily.
Dry Shampoo Tip One: Spray your roots at night and each night afterwards until you wash your hair again. That’s because your hair will release the most oil at night while you’re sleeping. By using the dry shampoo before your hair starts getting oily and right before bed you can go longer in-between washings. That way the dry shampoo is right there when your hair needs it the most! Then the next morning all you need to do is brush out your hair and/or style as needed.
Dry Shampoo Tip Two: And one last tip is to refrain from touching, styling, or playing with your hair as much as possible. Unfortunately the more you mess with your hair the more oil will be released from your scalp. This one has been the hardest for me since I love touching my hair, but I’m getting better at it!
