How To Make A Romper Look Chic

tiered ruffles

When it comes to getting dressed in the summer I prefer to keep things as simple as possible, and that’s exactly why I love rompers. They’re so easy to just throw on and go! To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to think of rompers at first since they can look so juvenile, so today I wanted to share a few tips on how to look chic and effortless while wearing a romper.

Outfit Details: Chicwish Romper c/o. Modmopolitan Earrings c/o (similar here, last seen here), Bella Ryann Bracelets In Gold c/o, Vintage Bag (similar here), Urban Outfitters Sandals (similar here)

CHOOSE A ROMPER WITH SLEEVES

One way to combat the overly youthful look is by choosing rompers that have sleeves. The sleeves help to balance out the short shorts as well as add a bit more sophistication.

WEAR A BELT

Besides adding interest and style a belt also helps to define the waist. Most rompers already come with a built in belt (like mine) or they may have a drawstring waist. A belt can easily be added over a drawstring waist to elevate the overall look of the romper.

ADD IN SOME FUN ACCESSORIES

Beside a belt, adding in a few favorite accessories can help to personalize the romper to make it more stylish. Try adding in a pair of statement earrings, bracelets, or a stack of necklaces. I chose to wear my favorite wicker earrings, and carry my new (to me) basket bag that perfectly matched the spots on my romper.

LOOK FOR UNIQUE DETAILS

Besides the sleeves I love that the “skirt” of this romper is made up of tiered ruffles. It’s a fun unique detail that makes it look more like a dress and less like an actual romper.

PAIR THEM WITH THE RIGHT SHOE

Wear them with leather sandals (like I did here), kitten heels, ballet flats, or even wedges. I just wouldn’t a romper with flip flops unless I was wearing this to the beach or pool.

Loved this! I struggled with rompers because I felt the were juvenile too, but I never tried one with long sleeves! Thank you for sharing

Thanks Autumn I’m so happy you enjoyed this post! This romper with long sleeves and shorts that look like a skirt was too cute to pass up! It looks so much like a long sleeve dress I love it! 😉

My Mother’s Day started at 4am with a nursing baby My Mother’s Day started at 4am with a nursing baby in my arms, a toddler crawling into my bed and falling asleep on my shoulder, & a doggie sleeping across my legs. 💕 They have no idea what today is, but I’m feeling so blessed to be surrounded by all my babies on Mother’s Day 👶🐶👧 Even if it was at 4am 🥱

Not pictured our dog Sydney. 🐶 I’m so tired I didn’t even notice until after we got these pictures 🤪 I knew I was forgetting something! 🙈
