kimonos have become such a staple in my wardrobe since they’re so easy to wear, plus they can instantly transform an outfit by taking it to a whole new level. I love throwing a kimono on over a pair of jeans, a dress, or even a basic t-shirt and shorts like I’m wearing here.

When it comes to summer clothing I’m not much of a shorts wearer, I find them unattractive, hard to find a good fitting pair, and not as interesting as dresses, rompers, or wide leg pants. Since discovering this combo I’ve been wearing shorts and kimonos together all summer long. They instantly breath fresh life into a basic pair of shorts making them more interesting and fun to wear. The combinations are endless!

These pretty black tassel earrings by Zaful (last seen here, can also be purchased in a set of two here) are substantial, yet very lightweight, plus I love how the tiny blue bead subtly ties in to the color of my purse.

You might not be able to tell, but we shot these pictures on a rainy day. Instead of letting the rain ruin our shoot, we used the trees as cover and the weather reminded me of past tropical vacations.

This Mellow World purse is the prettiest shade of blue and I love how it can be worn as a cross body, or the chain can be doubled up and worn over the shoulder.
