We finally made it to summer! To celebrate, I wore one of my favorite bright floral silk dresses to church on Sunday. I love summer because of the beautiful weather, longer days, outdoor activities, and the ability to work on home projects.

I love layering clothing and coming up with unique combinations. One of my favorite layering tricks I’ve done before here, here, and here, is to treat a dress like it’s a top or a skirt for double the wear. For example, I’ll layer a dress under a skirt or pants (to showcase only the top half of the dress), or I’ll layer a top over a dress, like I did below. I decided to layer this dress with a sheer high-low blouse (last seen here) to keep from covering up the pretty floral print and open back detail.
