3 Ideas For An Extra Special Date Night

For my birthday back in February, my husband wanted to surprise me with an extra special date night. He went ahead and told me his secret date night plans for fear of doing something I wouldn’t like.

His plan was to rent a limo to take us out to dinner. The thought was so sweet, but with cold winter weather we didn’t end up wanting to go out. In order to make up for it we planned on scheduling this extra special date night for spring. Here are a few of my ideas that made our date extra special.

Renting a car is something that’s never crossed my mind before, but would really make for a memorable date. We borrowed this 2004 Corvette from a family member (fulfilling my husbands life long dream of driving one after watching them get assembled while on a family vacation), but if you don’t have a nice car, or know someone who does, I would recommend checking out Turo. Turo is a peer-to-peer car rental company where anyone can list their cars for people to rent. With so many cars to choose from at different price points it’s a great place to find just what you need for your special date.

Have you ever been on a date that didn’t revolve around food? A fun refreshing spin on the typical dinner date would be enjoying the beautiful spring weather by dining alfresco. My husband and I will typically choose where we eat based on if they have outdoor seating or not. It takes a little bit more planning, but another alternative is to order takeout and/or prepare a meal by hand to take on a romantic picnic for two.

And last but certainly not least is the outfit. It’s so fun every now and then to play dress up. Think about your typical go to look and try taking it to the next level. If you normally wear yoga pants try wearing a nice pair of jeans. If you usually can be found wearing jeans maybe step it up with a maxi dress. If you normally wear flats maybe try heels. The most important thing is to feel and look your best. Also, don’t let all your hard work go to waste. Remember to snap a picture or two so you’ll never forget the great date you shared.

Not pictured our dog Sydney. 🐶 I’m so tired I didn’t even notice until after we got these pictures 🤪 I knew I was forgetting something! 🙈
