You may not know immediately an item is something you’ll cherish for years to come but, you can start buying smarter. A good rule of thumb is to buy items in neutrals. Not only will they match a lot, they’ll also be less likely to go out of style. Personally, I consider stripes (in neutral tones & navy), animal prints, denim, shades of blue, skin tones, as well as the obvious black, white, gray, and brown as neutrals.
Also look for items with a special detail. Like for instance my cream colored lace front top. I love the high neck and V shaped ruffles. It completely stood out amongst several cotton tank-tops and t-shirts in the store.
Lastly, just because a store is geared towards a younger audience and/or the prices are inexpensive doesn’t mean you can’t find a gem in there.
